Dear friend,

We are at a crossroads. Bay Area transit needs to get better, but it’s on the verge of getting a lot worse. Our region’s transit agencies are either on the cusp of having to drastically slash service because of funding gaps, or they are already offering woefully inadequate service due to low levels of funding.

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) — the transportation planning body for the whole nine-county Bay Area — is supposed to fix this. Please call your MTC commissioner and express your support for a region-wide solution to keep Bay Area public transit strong. Can you make a call today?

As part of the Voices for Public Transportation Coalition,Transform's members have been making public comments demanding a regional solution that progressively funds transit to maintain and expand service, but the Commissioners are not listening. That’s why we need you to call directly and demand that your commissioner step it up.

You can use this tool to determine your representative and their contact information. It also has a script you can use when making your phone calls.

The clock is ticking, as MTC will decide on a final plan on Monday, October 21.
